We built this space just for you whether you are starting on your author journey or a seasoned wordsmith with a massive backlist and the bank balance to match.  If you’ve ever wished the publishing world came with a friendly, jargon-free financial manual (and maybe a strong cup of coffee), you are exactly where you need to be. This program won't teach you how to write a bestseller or which is the best book cover for your genre. what it will teach you is how to build a strong financial foundation if you are at the start of your journey and how to be smart with your money if you are a little farther along. Even though we’re all authors here, our lives are at completely different stages and our bank accounts are, too! There is no one-size-fits-all path here. We just want to make it ridiculously easy for you to sort your finances, protect your future, and ensure that more of your hard-earned money stays right where it belongs: in your pocket. The Dynamic Duo Behind the Books

• Meet Jo: I’ve been writing and publishing since 2014, sending hundreds of thousands of books out into the wild. Back in 2018, I launched Enchanted Quill Press to help indie authors publish with absolute confidence. It has grown into a total one-stop shop for authors—we handle everything from gorgeous book cover designs and top-tier editing to dedicated PA support and virtual assistance. Oh, and on top of all the book magic, I’m also a licensed financial consultant. Translation? I speak fluent "plot twist" and "profit margin."

• Meet Jodi: I’m your resident wealth-building wizard! As a licensed financial consultant, I’ve spent years helping people crush their biggest goals, secure their futures, and make their money work just as hard as they do.

 

Rewriting the "Starving Artist" Story

FROM JO: I’ve been in this industry long enough to see a lot of incredibly talented authors come and go. Honestly, I’ve had plenty of moments myself where the money just wasn’t mathing, and I was this close to throwing in the towel.

But here’s the thing: I absolutely loved telling stories, and more than that, I believed in myself.

Eventually, all that grueling hard work paid off, and I started making real money selling books. But that's when my problems shifted. It went from, "How do I financially survive in this industry?" to, "What on earth do I do with this money now that I'm earning it?"

I realized I had taught myself how to make money in this business, but I had absolutely no idea how the financial mechanics worked, or the most prudent way to handle it.

That’s when I linked up with Jodi and decided to put myself through the rigorous training to become a licensed financial advisor. Originally, I did it purely for myself. But as I was learning the ropes, a lightbulb went off. I realized I wasn’t alone.

Let's be real—and I say this with nothing but love—authors have heads filled with dragons, spaceships, epic romances, and all the fun stuff. Spreadsheets aren't exactly our happy place! I knew right then that I wanted to impart everything I’ve learned to help other authors. If I had possessed this kind of financial savvy back in my early publishing days, I would have felt so much more confident.
